What has been keeping me so busy?
Much construction and renovation has been happening at the salon. We have been there for 2 complete weekends now.
The first weekend with not many volunteers, Jeff, Sue and myself renovated the bathroom and color room {I wish I had taken photos}.
Then i got smart and hung up a volunteer sign in back this weekend we had a lot more volunteers, and Nelly was pretty much recovered from eye surgery. I have lots of pictures, I will probably post more on FB when we are all done, this blogger takes so long to load a bunch of them!
But here are some before and after pictures of the nail/pedicure room and the shampoo room. Note that we tore things down and out first before our before pictures {LOL} but we did convert the "break room" into the Purple Rain Nail Lounge {(heehee) that song came on when we started painting it}!
This is a shot standing inside the nail lounge looking out the new doorway to the shampoo lounge.

Proof of Spring...

This is what they looked like April 24th of last year...
It is amazing that these little tiny fuzzy buds bloom into the pillowy magnolia flowers.
Aside from Willow Trees these are my favorite!

The snow is almost gone!
Some of the grass was green {{hooray!}}!!
While it did not get to 50 degrees today it was lovely to go for a nice long walk and be in the sunshine! We feel like bears coming out from hibernation!

Our Favorite Captain Passed Away...
I don't know if any of you watch the Dealist Catch but it just flashed on the screen that Phil Harris passed away...so sad.
We watch the show faithfully, he is our favorite captain on our favorite boat.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Phil Harris, the fishing boat captain whose adventures off the Alaska coast were captured on the television show "Deadliest Catch", has died, the Discovery Channel said Tuesday night. He was 53.
Harris suffered what his family described as a massive stroke on Jan. 29 while the fishing vessel he captained, Cornelia Marie, was in port at St. Paul Island, Alaska. The fisherman was flown to Anchorage for surgery.
The reality show, which has filmed five seasons, has been one of the Discovery Channel's most popular and depicts the crab fishing industry in the dangerous waters off Alaska.
"It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our dad - Captain Phil Harris. Dad has always been a fighter and continued to be until the end," sons Josh and Jake Harris said in a statement released by the network. "For us and the crew, he was someone who never backed down."
In a statement, Discovery Channel senior vice president Elizabeth Hillman says, "Phil was a devoted father and loyal friend to all who knew him."
"We will miss his straightforward honesty, wicked sense of humor and enormous heart," she said.
In an e-mail to The Associated Press, she said no additional information was immediately available Tuesday night.
Harris had seemed to be improving, and in a posting last Saturday on the ship's Web site, he was described as "talking to friends and family today; showing his greatest progress" since the stroke.
His sons wrote in a Feb. 3 posting that "No one ever said Captain Phil Harris wasn't tough. Today, dad showed some good signs of improvement, squeezing our hands and even summoning his trademark Captain's bluntness ... We are encouraged but still very cautious."
According to the ship's Web site, Harris started working on fishing boats at age 7 and started work 10 years later on a crab boat. When Harris turned 21, he ran a fishing vessel out of Seattle, making him one of the youngest to captain a vessel in the Bering Sea.
When Harris suffered the stroke, the family said a friend, Derek Ray, had flown to St. Paul to take over the role of relief skipper for the rest of the opilio crab season.
Harris' fishing vessel was based in Seattle.

Happy Valentine's Day!
I hope that everyone is having a wonderful day!I am so glad the sun is shining yet again today!
I got to sleep in this morning!
Then I opened a {{handmade}} Valentine card, ate some chocolate TRufFles {yum!} for breakfast, then sat on the couch catching up on episodes of the show Shear Genius, while watching my hub paint the living room!
I thought he deserved a nice pancake and sausage breakfast!
I also put an Asian/Swedish fusion {{{?} how is that for experimental!?!}} Pot Roast in the crock pot for dinner!
It is a Pot roast marinated in soy sauce, ginger, dijon mustard, salt, pepper & garlic.
I diced up some turnips, rutabaga and onions and threw it all in the crock.
I am going to serve it with some brown rice.
YUM!
Looks like I will be getting a little work out in before I enjoy my dinner...hmm, does it get any better then chocolate for breakfast and pot roast for dinner....man I should have had Lou's for lunch...not going to do it, that is just crazy talk! hahah!

35 Years!!!!
Yesterday my father surprised my Mom by setting up a renewal of their vows!
she was really surprised! It was such a wonderful day and Dad really pulled it all off!
They are so darn cute!
It really was awesome, they were looking at each other like not a moment had passed since they last did this!
I only wish everyone could be this happy!
I have posted all the pictures in an album on my FaceBook.I will get Smary to post the video!!!!
